Lt. Colonel Omar Pathare (retd) is a former officer from the Indian Army. An alumnus of Smt. Sulochanadevi Singhania School, Thane (1994), Col. Pathare went onto enter the Services Preparatory Institute (SPI), Aurangabad. Having ranked among the first 100 in the entrance exam for the defence forces, Col. Pathare underwent a 3-year training from the prestigious National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, followed by a 1-year finishing school stint in Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun.
He served the Indian Army from May 2000 to December 2015 in several high-intensity postings and positions.
Col. Pathare has been an Anti-Tank Guided Missile expert and Instructor, a Counter-Terrorism expert, Infantry Mortar expert and a Jungle Warfare expert. He has authored a paper titled “Strategic Challenges In a Network-Centric Battlefield Environment”, which was published in the journal of the ‘College of Defence Management, Secundarabad’.
He opted for a premature retirement from the army to start building the foundation of his next dream – that of securing the civilian milieu of our country.
To this end, Col. Pathare combined his experience in matters of security with a future-oriented education in Security Management.
He is a 'Certified Security Management Professional' (CSMP®) and a Life Member of the International Security Management Institute (M. ISMI®), UK. He is also the proud recipient of Certificate in Physical Protection (CPP®) from ASIS (International), which is considered the gold standard in the realm of security management.
He also holds an Exec. Cert. in Entrepreneurship from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kashipur.
Presently, Col. Pathare is a certified Security Consultant and Founder of Fortify Security Consulting.
He is also an Independent Consultant & VP (Physical Security) for ExeStat.
